Refurbished cast iron pipes



Look at these !
Basically, after a meagre attempt at scrubbing them with a wire brush, we decided that really they need to be brought back to the bare metal, and the only solution is to have them sandblasted (FR: sabler).
There happens to be a guy in Writtle (lucky innit ?) and he did it in a day, done and dusted (litterally !), and we are now (=Emily is) busy priming them.
Very satisfying to get old materials back to their former glory.
2 coats of zinc-based primer, one coat of micaceous iron oxide undercoat and 2 coats of gloss, and they should be sorted for 15 years !
