I can't park it on the drive because we are using the aforementioned drive to store materials, skips, and so on. So I parked the car down the road, and noticed on Sunday while I was driving past that the 2cv wasn't sitting straight in its parking place. I thought, oh well, someone had a laugh and manually lifted it, how fun ! Not that fun after all, when you see what happened. Some f*ckr backed into it, leaving both driver side doors basically unusable, and the rear wing badly dented :((( (of course that person didn't leave their contact details...) Was it deliberate ? Was it an accident ? We'll never know. But the outcome is the same anyway.
Since then, I removed the wing, bashed it back in shape so it doesn't rub on the tyre anymore... The car basically works, it just looks a little less nice.
I'll have to do something about the doors, but in the meantime, I enter the vehicle from the passenger door...

I'm really sorry to hear about the car. That's terrible and the individual doesn't have the decency to say anything. Leads me to believe it was deliberate ... can you find a garage somewhere? You might be able to get a spare door and respray. B*stard went into the back of my mark 1, so i cut the back off and repaired and you would never know. Solidarity amongst classic car enthusiasts - remain strong little man!!

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'll have to get 2 new doors, new wing and new "B post", and get it all welded by a local garage...
Last of my worries for the moment anyway, and like I said, it is only cosmetic (actually not quite, the driver's seatbelt is constantly jammed now...)
